Sisterhood of Convoluted Thinkers Release Album, Tour

Catherine Lewis reports:
Sisterhood of Convoluted Thinkers (Rob Christiansen, Jeannine Durfee, and Mike Halverson) have just released their third album on TeenBeat. Their follow up to 2001's stellar Darla release Ume Sour is entitled Better Days, Coming Now and was recorded at the trio's studio in Brooklyn. Their hooky tunes feature odd harmonies and other general quirkiness, which should not be unfamiliar to fans of Christiansen's earlier Teenbeat project, Eggs. The tracklist:

01 Cradle
02 Winners
03 Morning Coffee
04 You Don't Mind Me
05 All You Want To Do Is Make Me Cry
06 Bug Light
07 Progress
08 Paul McGinnis
09 Someone New
10 Better Days, Coming Now
11 Telephone
12 Be Lonely With Me

Perhaps even more exciting is that the Convoluted Thinkers will be hitting the road in September and traveling to the West Coast for the first time ever, joined on stage by drummer Jessica Weil and guitarist/sampler Mark McAdam. The Thinkers' eccentricities really come through in their somewhat unpredictable live shows-- wacky theatrical skits and quickie costume changes are not at all uncommon (think the Residents). These are definitely shows worth catching at any cost (any cost, that is, except $37.50 plus a $12.75 convience charge). The dates:

09-16 Los Angeles, CA - Sea Level Records (in-store)
09-16 Los Angeles, CA - Cat Club
09-17 San Diego, CA - Rosary Room
09-19 Oakland, CA - Stork Club
09-20 Eureka, CA - Saffire Rose
09-21 Portland, OR - Alex's House
09-22 Olympia, WA - Le Voyeur
09-23 Seattle, WA - Sonic Boom Records
09-24 Vancouver, British Columbia - Sugar Refinery
09-26 San Francisco, CA - Hemlock
